First steps in the CGI world

Last week I tried for the first time 3D modelling and sculpting in Maya and Zbrush. As an excercise in class, we had to sculpt a figure from a picture. I took an ancient Maya sculpture. The great thing about ZBrush is, that you can sculpt very intuitively. It’s like you’re working with a physical piece of clay. Zbrush is an extremely powerful tool and I can’t wait to explore it more.

After this exercise I wanted to dive deeper into the program and watched a few tutorials. I decided to sculpt my D&D character and after 5.5 hours of work I came up with a decent render of my Half-Elf Ranger.

Feel free to download the hotkey brushes I used here.
